Presentation Skills

Presenting your information and ideas effectively and accurately is the essential key in almost every field. In the banking world, not only you need to make presentation to your clients, you also need to propose ideas to your supervisors to get them approved. In an extreme case, you are even askedprepare the client proposal in the morning, and then sell it to the client in the afternoon meeting. How to make it simple but eye-catching? How to impress your clients during the presentation. This is definitely the top most important skill you needed to acquire

Selling Skills

There are over 100 banks in the market, how to make your clients choose YOUR bank but not others is never easy. This bring the importance of selling technics which will help you get the deals closed. Listening to your clients, understanding the hidden message, questioning the high-value questions. By teaching you the golden but simple 3 rules, WGL will help you differentiate yourself from the ordinary Sales.

Excel and Cashflow Modeling

As you may have seen from many job ads, Excel skill is one of the most important skills that the employers are looking for. Excel can help keeping track of data, maintaining and validating information, plotting graph for presentation etc. And for advanced user they can even make good use of VBA to minimize repetitive actions.

Powerpoint Making

A good PowerPoint is halfway success towards a great presentation. While we will talk more detail in the workshop, here are some of the tips you have to keep in mind

  • • play with color using contrast, depth and transparency
  • • design your own templates
  • • use good fonts
  • • use more images than words
  • • use big and bold features for important message

Understanding the
Structure of Banks and IBD

Students learn from textbook about how banks operate, but few people know how the banking system run in reality - banks work in a much more sophisticated way than just taking deposits and giving out loans. In the workshop, we will have bankers to explain how the banks make profit and what different departments do and cooperate with each other.

Networking Skills

Networking is the key to success in your career. By increasing your contacts, it helps increase the chance of employment and promotion, or even to start your own business. Not only WGL will teach your how to expand your network, we will also hold regular cocktails event (twice a month) for our students.

Personal Branding

No matter you want to be in a Sales role or not, admit it, we are all a Sales. How to impress your interviewers in a 30-minutes long interview? Making you as good as possible while remaining humble and only stating the facts are the keys. Stay positive, be prepared to talk about your profile confidently, telling interesting examples from the past experience and etc. WGL knows it is way much easier to say than do it. Let’s have our Advisors from the banks to show to you how to acquire the skill on the 1-to-1 basis.

Personal Grooming and Social Etiquette

Personal grooming and social etiquette not only referring to working suits and table manner, it also included makeup, body hair, dental hygiene, fragrance, hands, nails, feet, shoes, bags, and the correct way to greet people in the social event. We are surprised most of the fresh grads and even experienced employees do not know the correct way to do so. In this regard, WGL Advisors will teach you the Do and Don’t In public.

Interviewing Skills

During the workshop, we not only focusing on the essential verbal elements of the interview skill like clarifying interview questions, asking the right questions, familiarizing with your own profile, research on the bank and interviewers before going. We also focus on the non-verbal one such as eye contact, posture, hand movements and other body languages that help indicate how confident you are.

Current Affair and Financial Market

To work in the bank, it is always important to stay aware to the current affairs and news about financial market. Sometimes in the interview, you will be asked about your views and opinions on a current affair, which requires a thorough knowledge of the event. Fortunately, it is getting easier to fully understand the financial markets by subscripting to some multi-media. WGL Advisors will talk about it in detail during the course.
